Substitute

In order to work as a Substitute Teacher, you need to have ONE of the following credentials:

  • An Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) with a Paraprofessional (PARA) endorsement (Para Educator License or ELS-PARA); or
  • A Substitute Teaching License; or
  • A Short-Term Substitute License (only valid until June 30, 2028); or
  • A Professional Educator License (PEL) with any type of endorsement

Daily Substitute

Working as a daily substitute offers the most flexibility, as you are able to select the dates that you would like to substitute via the Red Rover platform.

 

Rate of Pay

General Education: $130/day

Dual Language: $140/day

Special Education: $140/day

Building Substitute

A building substitute reports to the same building, at the same time, everyday.  However, you will not be in the same classroom everyday, instead you will cover classrooms as needed. 

Rate of Pay: $145/day

 

Long-Term Substitute

A long-term substitute is covering a classroom for an absence that is 15 days or longer. You will be in the same classroom everyday, and will take over all responsibilties of the absent teacher.

Rate of Pay: $323.36/day (w/ TRS)
